What are the uses of the materials used by cast steel manufacturers, and what does the quality score refer to?

According to the purpose of the steel material, it can be divided into carbon structural steel and carbon tool steel. The carbon content of carbon tool steel is between 0.65% and 1.35%. After heat treatment, the desired hardness and wear resistance can be obtained. Commonly made parts from this material include various tools, knives, molds, etc. As for carbon structural steel, it can also be subdivided. For example, the yield strength can be classified into Q195, Q215, Q235, Q275. Generally, the quality of each grade is divided into four levels: A, B, C, and D, but some have only one level. Additionally, the deoxidation methods during the smelting of large gear steel differ.

Deoxidation symbols are: F — Boiling steel, Z — Calm steel, TZ — Special calm steel.

Generally, carbon structural steel does not require heat treatment and can be used directly after production. For carbon steel with lower quality content, it is often made into thin plates, rebar, steel pipes, etc., mainly used for bridges or screws and nuts. If the carbon steel has a higher quality content, it can be made into large mechanical equipment parts, such as large gears, grinding discs, or couplings.
