Precision parts used by the steel casting manufacturer require surface treatment

2021-09-28

In the actual operation of large gears, the strength and toughness requirements for the entire precision component are relatively high. The working performance, service life, and surface performance are closely related. To improve the surface of the casting, it cannot rely solely on raw materials, which would also be a waste of financial resources. To meet surface performance standards, surface treatment technology is required.

When precision components undergo surface polishing, they are affected not only by the process and polishing equipment but also by the material's mirror finish. If this aspect is not given attention, polishing will be directly impacted. With the continuous upgrading of surface treatment technology, the most commonly used methods in component processing are still hardening deposition and carburizing techniques.

As is well known, carburizing technology in steel casting manufacturers' surface treatment can achieve relatively high surface performance of castings, and the process requires high coordination with quenching. The carburizing temperature is relatively low, so after carburizing treatment, intense cooling processes are not necessary, reducing the likelihood of casting deformation. Therefore, this technology is widely used throughout the industry.
